Introduction
The Faculty of Engineering offers a wide range of programs that prepare students for successful careers in engineering. Our programs are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to solve complex problems and make a difference in the world.
Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways.
The civil engineering student has the opportunity to obtain a broad background in mathematics and the physical sciences and their applications to all areas of civil engineering.
Much of the work of civil engineers is highly visible, such as roadways, bridges, airports, levees, buildings, bike paths, and city parks, while other parts are rarely seen but equally vital to the health of communities, such as the water and wastewater treatment, distribution, and collection systems or the energy infrastructure.
The civil engineer who received his/her Bachelor of Science degree or advanced diploma from recognized academic studies can specialize in one of the areas of the civil engineering profession. These include:-
Department Vision
They are producing outstanding civil engineering professionals with human values who can face future challenges.
