Reexamination is applied when the student fails to gain enough marks for a course (for example the minimum 50% required for a course).
During the preparation for the reexamination, the student is given all the help, material and support to prepare for the reexamination. If the student fails again at the reexamination, the student is required to recourse for the failed course.
Other rules about assessments are the following:
- The student is required to sit for all course evaluations
- The student is responsible to take part in the different evaluation of the substance (for example, the midterm exam).
- If the student is absent from a subject assessment (other than the class activity) the student will fail even if the student has a higher score (for example, above 50% or 60%).
- Arrangements ensure that the passing score of 50% or 60% is not just a guarantee of the subject. Participation of all assessments has two commitments: Passing Points (50% or 60%) and participation in a variety of assessment activities.

Ability to Manage Donor Funds
To date, EAU has managed not less than millions of dollars since its formation. All these monies have been accounted for in auditing. The biggest chunks of these monies are from the international donors and internal funds. All financial transaction documents are available for perusal and study.
EAU and the board have a rule governing financial expenditure and that rule rests on transparency, accountability and integrity and any financial misappropriation are handled based on the available law in Puntland.
EAU is aware of the challenges donors face in financial accountability and has worked with some NGOs in putting their financial planning, expenditure and documentations in order for proper auditing. This underscores the importance of weight EAU puts on the need for transparent financial transactions.
